How important is food at your wedding?

How important is the food at your wedding?

On a scale of 1 – 10, we’d say an 11. Okay, maybe not that high, but seriously, it’s pretty far up there. It does count for a sizable portion of your wedding budget after all. And if you tackle this big ticket item right, your guests will walk away and remember how delicious everything was for years to come.

Picking a venue is a huge step, and when catering is included in that decision it becomes an even bigger one. Check out a couple of must ask questions below!

Is there a minimum spend?
Does that spend seem reasonable considering your guest count and the average plate price? Does it include alcohol? You don’t want to be caught spending money just to meet some minimum, do you? We’re all about the transparency at the Wedding Studio.

Does the caterer have liquor liability insurance?
If not, you’ll need to factor that into your budget. At the Radisson, not only do we have full liquor liability insurance, but it extends into the hotel.

Will the caterer provide a waitstaff? Bartenders? Is it an additional fee?
Hiring your own team of licensed waitstaff and bartenders can be quite the hassle. That’s why we provide an entire team trained on how to make your big day the best it can be, at no additional charge.

Is the caterer able to make modifications to plates for dietary restrictions? Is it an additional fee? What about a customized menu?

How well a catering team is willing to work with you will be very telling of the venue as a whole. This is YOUR wedding and at the Radisson, we want you have a menu as unique as you are. That’s why our chef personally sits down with every couple to go over menu options.

Are linens and dinnerware included? Is it an additional cost?
When we say inclusive, we mean it, but that doesn’t mean all venues do. At Radisson we provide black or white table linens, napkins, and dinnerware at no additional fee.

Read reviews.

Reviews are some of your best assets as a customer. Don’t be afraid to ask a venue for referrals from past clients, either. You can check some of ours out here.
